CURRENT VACANCIES

1. LEGAL ASSISTANT 

Job description:

  • Help to manage client work allocated by the Supervising Partner or other partners, and in accordance with detailed procedures and quality standards as instructed.
  • Ensure that all client work is progressed expeditiously and that the client is kept regularly informed on progress.
  • Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney.
  • Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports.
  • Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress.
  • Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for hearing; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review.
  • Exercise high standards of client care in a professional and pleasant manner at all times.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all of the practice’s and client documentation and information.
  • Maintain clear and precise communications with other personnel and clients.
  • Supervise, support and develop immediate support staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of law degree.
  • Great knowledge of the key Cambodian codes (Civil, Civil Procedure, Penal, and Penal Procedure Codes).
  • Great attention to details.
  • Research and reporting skills.
  • Legal administration skills.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent word processing and communication skills in English (Chinese is a plus) is required.
2. LEGAL INTERN

Responsibilities:

  •  Assist in preparing legal documents and formalities
  • Conduct research and update collections of Cambodian laws and regulations as well as assist in establishing legal database
  • Assist in legal drafting including contracts, document related to legal matters and others alike
  • Update new laws and regulations
  • Translate contracts and document related to legal matters and others alike (English to Khmer or vice versa)
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor/lawyers from time to time

 Eligibility:

  • Minimum 3rd year law students or equivalent in related field.
  • No prior experience required
  • Good command of English (Chinese mandarin is an added advantage)
  • Computer literacy
  • Honest and a team player
  • Passionate about legal profession and is keen to learn new things.
